Moombahton Minimix 2011

New sound straight out of DC!!! Word on the street is there’s a new genre impacting the world of electronic music — Moombahton. Yes, Moombahton. That is Dutch House that has been slowed down to about 108 beats per minute approaching a tempo closer to Reggaeton. Reggaeton, as you may know, is immensely popular in South America known as “Latin Urban Music”. It is hard to imagine Dirty Dutch slowed down to 108 beats per minute, but you distinctly hear the Reggaeton and Dutch House influences. Its a very interesting combination to say the least. It all started when Dave Nada slowed down Silvio Ecomo & Dj Chuckie — Moombah (Afrojack Remix) at a party in DC and realized it’s uniqueness. This is where the name, Moombahton, comes from — Moombah and Reggeaton together. He spent the next months perfecting what he wanted this new genre to sound like and adding Latin flavors to it. The first official release of a track in the Moombahton genre was released March of 2010. Recently BBC Radio 1 did a special feature on Moombahton which exposed millions of people to the new genre. As you might have guessed, this is causing quite a stir in the community. Someone on twitter summed it up well: “Oh sure, people love to bash dutch house on message boards, but slow it down a bit and they’re all OMG NEW ART FORM!!!” — @attack_yourself. Whether you like it or not, you have to realize that it is good to see people experimenting with new things and pushing the envelope to bigger and different

The Grass Roots – Two Divided By Love – 45 RPM – ORIGINAL MONO MIX

Original ABC Dunhill Records #4289 45RPM Debut 10/9/71 Peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This was the last Top 20 hit for The Grassroots. Written by: D Lambert, B. Potter & M. Kupps Produced by Steve Barri Horns arranged by Jimmie Haskell Engineered by Phil Kaye Flip side: “Let It Go” The original 45 RPM is about the only way to hear The Grassroots music in glorious mono, as ABC Dunhill destroyed most of the mono masters in the 1970’s. These mono mixes were made hotter for AM radio, which was mono, and sound more punchier and fuller than the inferior stereo mixes heard today on oldies radio. For more great music like this, tune into REWOUND Radio found here: rewoundradio.com Channel WABCRADIO77 is a proud supporter of the “Oldies Message Board” found at this link: www.oldiesboard.com If you like oldies music, then please check out the message board, for that is where many oldies fans are “hanging out” and posting lots of cool stuff about the music you love!

Was I wrong to check up on him?

Hi,

I was dating this guy for a few months and we had agreed to be exclusively involved with each other. After agreeing this, he had made comments about other women, and told me that he was once sleeping with two women at once, but it was “only casual”.

After that, in conversation I told him about a friend of mine who found out her boyfriend had sexually assaulted someone but she did not find this out until long after she had got involved with him.

I said to him “If I were single again, the next time I meet someone whose family, friends and history are unknown to me, I would consider hiring a private detective to check them out.”

He freaked out and accused me of “getting a private detective on to him”, which was not the case. I probably wouldn’t as they are expensive.

I thought his reaction strange so when I had the opportunity I looked at his viewing history on his computer. I found he was visiting websites for prostitutes and sex clubs.

I found also that he was actively posting on a sex tourists website, advising other posters how to secure the services of prostitutes in various countries, where it might be more difficult – eg. Islamic nations etc.

I did not find evidence that he had cheated on me with hookers during our relationship, but he was actively taking part in these message boards about finding sex, good brothels to go to, service offered and value for money etc.

It was clear that – until meeting me – he was a frequent and enthusiastic user of hookers, and I also found out that he was visiting them while he was still married to his ex-wife.

I confronted him and he admitted it, though said he had not gone to a hooker while he was with me. He told me he was a sex addict but he was not planning to cheat, just looking.

The relationship ended after this because I didn’t trust him.

I felt bad about going through his stuff but I was relieved that I could get out of the relationship, knowing that his sex addiction would always be a risk factor in the long term. None of this was obvious when I met him – he was well spoken, well mannered and well turned out with a good job and a good education.

Was I wrong to invade his privacy?

HP All-in-One Printer not scanning over network to Vista PC?

I have a two year old HP Photosmart 2575 connected to a small home network. It prints and scans perfectly with both a Windows7 wireless laptop, and a Windows7 wired (ethernet) laptop. It also prints ok from a Dell Vista (32-bit) desktop computer, but it won’t scan to it. (The Dell PC isn’t listed as a device after pushing the “Scan To” button on the printer…)

Vista is fully up to date, and I’ve tried re-installing the HP software/driver many times (with the antivirus disabled as per installation instructions). I’ve also used the most recent software from the HP website, and also installed the recommended patches. I’ve tried unblocking the most common ports used by scanners in the firewall as well… After a week of troubleshooting it’s still not scanning to the Dell… :-(

From online message boards, it seems to be a reoccurring problem with HP printers. If anybody fixes this for me I’ll answer and star your next 5 questions!
This problem has 3 possible causes : (1) Blocked firewall ports, (2) Incompatibility with a Windows Service Pack, or (3) Trouble with the HP software.

I’ve found a work-around:- Turn on the printer, go to the Web page for the printer (type the printer’s IP address into a web browser. e.g. 192.168.1.8), click Scan application, preview your document as a Letter Sized Colour Drawing, and then CTRL+Left click on the Scan button (this allows Google toolbar pop-ups). (Also… make sure Pop-ups are Always allowed in your Web browser for your printer IP address…keep an eye out for a warning security bar at the top of your page). In the new web page that opens (when scanning has finished) right click anywhere on the picture –> Save Picture As… Save as a large Bitmap or a smaller JPEG file. (If you run into trouble after allowing pop-ups…..Click Reset, close your Web browser window, turn printer off for 5 seconds, re-open the Web browser when printer has powered up again, and as bef
Cont. ore: type printer IP addr into the address bar).

A crude alternative work around is to plug a USB memory stick into the front port of your printer, Press the SCAN button on the front panel, select ‘Memory Device’. Document will be scanned to a folder called DCIM on the USB stick. Transfer the JPEG to your PC via the USB stick. (Turn off the Printer before removing the mem stick).

I have a feeling that because the ‘HP Solution Centre’ software is not installing or running correctly, that it’s actually causing the Scanning problem. HP does not acknowledge that there’s a problem. What happened to a little Customer Care? The 2570 series and other affected HP ranges are not cheap printers. HP has no Quality Control. HP are scum
