Hi all,
I have recently set up a comprehensive website which allows any town in the world to declare its independence as a virtual nation state. Upon independence, it can have its own flag, anthem, constitution etc and provides that town with its own local social network.
People can then also join as virtual citizens of any town in the world and set up profiles and message boards etc. I’m really hopeful it will take off, as it is free and quite unique. The vision is for all 4 million towns in the world to declare independence – how cool would that be!? Just trying to work out best way of promoting it – please could you help?

well u could make a banner and add it as a link on your myspace page, advertise on other virtual world websites like IMVu(which i use) and Secondlife etc etc, also you could try advertising on facebook which is massive!
probably word of mouth is your best shot and unfortunately for you, you cant buy that however there is one way you can ask magazines to make an article based on the eccentricities of your website.
